How it works
Every day at midnight UTC a new puzzle appears. The day number seeds a small random generator, which picks the category and the five items, so the person next to you gets the same five cards without anyone running a server. Categories rotate: population, area, oldest first, distance from a city, animal weight, mountain height, independence year, river length, building height, size of things in space and film running times.
The five items are always at least 12 percent apart (dates: ten years), so a rounded figure can never make the order unfair. Figures are rounded reference values, close enough to settle an argument, not a citation. The reveal shows the real numbers so you leave knowing something.
Scoring is by position. A card in its correct slot counts as right, one slot off is close, anything else is wrong. Your streak counts days played in a row, whatever the score, because showing up is the game. Practice rounds are unlimited and never counted.
Nothing you do here leaves the browser. The only thing this page records is that a puzzle was checked and what the score was.
